Zach Rance and Frankie Grande reflect on their summer bromance in the “Big Brother” house
The high-profile bromance between gay contestant Frankie Grande and straight contestant Zach Rance was a real highlight of the most recent season of Big Brother.
Rance said this week that the two had a reunion at a Starbucks last weekend and that there are no hard feelings over Grande’s role in getting him voted out of the house.
He knows many people find it hard to believe that after a summer of cuddling together, giving massages and proclaiming their love for each other that this can possible be just a gay-straight bromance.
‘I’m obviously straight, I’ve made that clear millions of times,’ Rance tells Out.com.
‘The fact that I was cuddling with a gay guy, giving him a massage . . . you know, let’s be real – guys give other guys massages. It’s not a big deal. I don’t care that he was gay. I was never afraid that he would try to kiss me. If he tried to kiss me, I would have said, “no, it’s not like that,” and I would have continued to be friends with him.’
Rance thinks their affection for each other might inspire more such bromances.
‘I feel like I was kind of a role model for some people on the show who might look at me and say, “Wow, Zach’s a really cool guy and he’s best friends with a gay guy, so why can’t I be best friends with a gay guy?” We don’t know the impact it’s going to have on the world, but it’ll definitely be a positive one.’
For his part, Grande told Out last week said of the relationship: ‘…There’s definitely an attraction. Absolutely. … Both ways. For sure. Zach kept saying, “I wish I were gay so I could be with you,” and I was eventually like, “Yeah, I wish you were gay, too.”’
Grande added: ‘He isn’t gay, but there’s all this attention on our relationship. I don’t know if he’s sat down and tried to dissect and figure it out, but there was definitely an attraction there. Society tries to put us into social norms, right? If he felt a certain way in the house, it’s very possible that society could change the way he felt.’

I just love Zach. He was so funny on the show, and he’s just adorably cute.
Jay says:
They have an interesting dynamic. Someone should create them their own show. I’d watch.
K. Martinez says:
Zach was the best thing about this season of Big Brother.
Richard V says:
I like the show ideal, show society attraction takes many forms and they don’t have to be sexual. In a friendship are you not attracted to that friend for one reason or another. It’s hard to get true friends so when you do I hang on to them. Bromance, I like this word.
Here’s to wishing these two guys a great friendship.
