Zac Efron sings his birthday gift to Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres got a sweet birthday present from cutie pie Zac Efron when he guested on her daytime talk show in a segment that aired Thursday.

Coming up with something to give Ellen, who turned 56 on January 26, was a bit of a challenge, Zac said.

‘I kind of thought what do you give to someone on their birthday who kind of has everything like you do?’ he told Ellen.

So, he came up with a song. Zac pulled out a guitar and performed it.

‘I don’t really play guitar and where is Taylor Swift when you need her?’ he wondered. ‘I kind of just figured out how to play this last night.’

The song had a total of three lyrics: ‘Happy birthday Ellen’ which Zac repeated several times as he strummed the guitar and the studio audience clapped along.

Ellen smiled throughout and gave the young actor a kiss of the cheek to show her appreciation. ‘

‘Well that was sweet!’ the birthday girl said.
