World # 1 Novak Djokovic joins Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the exclusive 700 club

While die hard Roger Federer fans wait to see if our guy will win one last grand slam title before he retires within the next few years, his nemesis Novak Djokovic just keeps on winning practically everything.

This week, Djokovic joined Federer and Rafael Nadal as one of only three active players on the ATP tour to have won 700 matches in their career.

The world number one and reigning Wimbledon, Australian and US Open champion did so by beating Malek Jaziri in the second round of the Dubai Tennis Championships on Wednesday.

He becomes just the 12th player in the Open Era to join the 700 club. He has lost just six matches since reaching 600 wins in November 2014.

Federer has 1,067 match wins overall and remains a strong world number three who beat Djokovic three times last year and was runner-up at Wimbledon and the US Open. Nadal has won 775 matches buty these days seems to be struggling almost each time he steps onto the court against players he used to routinely dominate.

In other feats, Novak can equal Ivan Lendl’s record of reaching 18 consecutive finals this week and is also eyes an eighth consecutive tournament title.
