With Pride LIVE! Hollywood in full swing, cast of “Where the Bears Are” reunites for documentary screening

Pride LIVE! Hollywood launched last week (through June 29) and I was able to make Friday night’s screening of the new documentary “A Big Hairy Gay Hit” on the rooftop of the Ricardo Montalban Theater. So beautiful to be with community, creative people, and to celebrate something wonderful.

The documentary about the groundbreaking gay web series Where The Bears Are which ran seven seasons (2012-19). I never missed an episode. Creators Rick Copp, Joe Dietl and Ben Zook – who were also the main stars – were there to introduce the movie and are a hoot to watch in the documentary.

Recurring cast members Tuc Watkins (Dickie Calloway), Rita Taggart (Doris Dorkoff), Sam Pancake (Alfie Cooper), Peter Paige (Bently), and Bruce L. Hart (Wyatt) were among the cast members who attended the event.

I had a blast and was especially happy to see Tuc Watkins who I’ve been a fan of since his David Vickers days on One Life to Live and has been so good on Beggars & Choosers, Desperate Housewives, The Other Two, Uncoupled, and the stage and movie versions of The Boys in the Band.
