With “Partners,” Streisand achieves number one album for record sixth consecutive decade

Barbra Streisand is still like buttah on the record charts.
The legendary singer’s latest album, Partners, has debuted at the top of the Billboard sales chart.
This makes her the first artist in history to have a number one album in six consecutive decades.
Her first number one album, People, came out 50 years ago next month. Her other chart toppers include The Way We Were, A Star is Born, The Broadway Album, and Love is the Answer, among others.
In a statement on her official website Wednesday, Streisand said the feat leaves her ‘an overwhelming feeling of joy!’
‘Being told that I’ve had #1 albums in six consecutive decades makes me feel truly blessed and grateful to have such loyal fans,’ she stated. ‘I feel you rooting for me and I so appreciate all of your energy and support.’
