Wishing a very happy 84th birthday to the unsinkable Hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds!
It was so great that Debbie Reynolds finally received an honorary Academy Award in November.
But what a pity that she was recovering from a surgery and was unable to attend. But she was well represented by daughter Carrie Fisher and granddaughter Billie Lourd.
She’s one of the movie industry’s true movie legends who 64 years ago became a star in the classic musical Singin’ in the Rain and went on to star in such films as The Unsinkable Molly Brown, How the West Was Won, Goodbye Charlie, Tammy and the Bachelor, Mother and In & Out, among others.
We have been so blessed to have been able to enjoy her immense talents for all these decades as she’s been even busier on the stage and in television.
Here are some of Debbie’s musical performances from throughout the decades. I especially love her duet with daughter Carrie Fisher on Oprah in 2011 and her duet with the late Bobby Van from 1953’s The Affairs of Dobie Gillis.
Enjoy!
