Wishing a happy birthday to unsinkable showbiz legend Debbie Reynolds who turns 83 today
It was so great to see Debbie Reynolds receive the Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award earlier this year.
Now let’s start a campaign for her to get an Honorary Oscar!
She’s one of the movie industry’s true movie legends who 63 years ago became a star in the classic musical Singin’ in the Rain and went on to star in such films as The Unsinkable Molly Brown, How the West Was Won, Goodbye Charlie, Tammy and the Bachelor, Mother and In & Out, among others.
We have been so blessed to have been able to enjoy her immense talents for all these decades as she’s been even busier on the stage and in television.
Here are some of Debbie’s musical performances from throughout the decades. I especially love her duet with daughter Carrie Fisher on Oprah in 2011 and her duet with the late Bobby Van from 1953’s The Affairs of Dobie Gillis.
Enjoy!
