Wishing a happy birthday to Luke MacFarlane who everybody seems to love – including me!

Happy birthday to dreamboat actor Luke Macfarlane who turns 45 today.

Luke currently stars in the Apple TV series Platonic which was recently renewed for a third season. He will be guest starring as a key character in the ABC sitcom Shifting Gears. His upcoming films include leading roles in the dramas Into the Deep Blue and Lone Star Bull.

Longtime fans first fell in love with Luke as Scotty on ABC’s Brothers & Sisters opposite Matthew Rhys. He went on to star in the series Killjoys for five seasons, had a memorable recurring role on NBC’s The Night Shift, co-starred in the 12-episode PBS Civil War medical drama Mercy Street, and was a cast member in the one-season ensemble shows Over There and Satisfaction.

The Julliard-trained actor came out publicly as a gay man while playing gay character on ABC’s Brothers & Sisters.  He has been able to play both gay and straight roles throughout his career including the romantic leads in more than a dozen popular Hallmark TV movies.

Luke got a lot of buzz and publicity when he co-starred in the Netflix rom-com Single All the Way as a ski instructor who gets set up with Michael Urie’s character over the holidays. This was around the same he starred opposite Billy Eichner in Bros which was widely touted as the first major studio romantic comedy focusing on a gay male couple. It was an enjoyable movie and deserved to do better at the box office than it did.

But it firmly established Luke as a movie hunk!
