Wishing a happy 80th birthday to Tina Turner!

She really does seem ageless but if you count the years, today the great Tina Turner is celebrating her 80th birthday.

Tina has had several health setbacks in recent years including a stroke and suffered the loss of a son last year. But after completing a new autobiography she showed in interviews that she is one helluva survivor. Earlier this month, a musical based on her life opened on Broadway.

She came back from years of domestic violence at the hands of ex-husband and ex-singing partner Ike Turner with whom she had such hits as A Fool in Love, River Deep – Mountain High, Proud Mary and Nutbush City Limits.

On her own she’s been a far bigger star with so many hits including Simply the Best, Let’s Stay Together, We Don’t Need Another Hero , Better Be Good to Me, Private Dancer, I Don’t Wanna Fight, Typical Male and What You Get Is What You See.
