Wilson Cruz movie “The People I’ve Slept With” opens at Sunset 5 in West Hollywood today!
I was at Sunset 5 in West Hollywood yesterday to catch the drama Brotherhood about two white supremacists who fall in love and face some brutal consequences as a result. Uplifting it was not!
You’re sure to have more fun if you go to Sunset 5 this weekend though because the romantic comedy The People I’ve Slept With opened there today. (It opened in NY last weekend and will play in San Francisco beginning Sept. 13!) More info HERE!
I’m rooting for the movie to do well because I quite enjoyed it when I saw it at Outfest Fusion this spring and one of its stars is Greg In Hollywood fave Wilson Cruz! The night of the screening, Wilson was honored with the Outfest Fusion Achievement Award for his groundbreaking career.
The film is director Quentin Lee’s fourth feature and is a sexy comedy about a promiscuous woman (Karin Anna Cheung) who finds herself with an unplanned pregnancy and needs to figure out who the baby daddy is…NOW. But who could it be? Is it the sexy mystery man? Is is nicer but boring guy? Or is it, God forbid, 10 second guy? (FYI: She even likes girls once in awhile!)
Helping her navigate impending motherhood and dealing with his own love life issues is her gay BFF (Cruz). They have wonderful chemistry together and it is the kind of meaty film role Wilson Cruz deserves after being barely seen in last year’s He’s Just Not That Into You as one of Drew Barrymore’s BFFs.
