Will Kathy Griffin finally win her first Grammy?

http://a4.mzstatic.com/us/r1000/072/Music/c8/52/35/mzi.agsomjki.170x170-75.jpgSo last night the Grammy nominations were announced and by now, I’m sure you know that the nominations were dominated by Adele, Kanye West, Bruno Mars, and Foo Fighters as well as nominations for Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Katy Perry.

But let’s talk about the nominations I care about! For the third straight year, two-time Emmy winner has been nominated for best comedy album. Will the third time be the charm for the famous D-lister who was nominated for 50 & Not Pregnant.

I love how unabashedly Kathy wants to win major awards. Last year, her Grammy-nominated album was Kathy Griffin Wants a Tony.

So far, only the Emmys have declared her a winner.

This time around, Streisand got a nods for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for What Matters Most – Barbra Streisand Sings The Lyrics Of Alan And Marilyn Bergman. This is Barbra’s 42nd Grammy nomination in a nearly 50-year career.

It’s always great to have Streisand be a part of the Grammys, an award she first won in the mid-60s. She memorably dueted with Neil Diamond in the late 70s and last year, treated the audience to a wonderful rendition of her hit Evergreen.

And finally, the Best Musical Theater Album category pits The Book of Mormon against Anything Goes and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying starring staunch LGBT straight ally Daniel Radcliffe.
