“Will & Grace” Wednesday: When Ellen DeGeneres guest-starred on the show – as a nun!
During its eight seasons on the air, Will & Grace was the Glee of its day in terms of high-profile guest stars.
Just about every big star around appeared on the show for a one-time shot or in a recurring role. Just off the top of my head: Cher, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Neil Patrick Harris, Michael Douglas, Tracy Ullman, Matt Damon, Britney Spears, Kevin Bacon, Minnie Driver, Rosie O’Donnell, Woody Harrelson, Joan Collins, Janet Jackson, Glenn Close, Debbie Reynolds, Blythe Danner, Luke Perry, Gregory Hines, Harry Connick Jr., John Cleese, Taye Diggs, Sandra Bernhart, Jeff Goldblum and on and on and on!
So, of course, you had to have Ellen DeGeneres come on! The thing is, until I came across this clip, I had completely forgotten Ellen’s appearance as Sister Louise, a nun (a cheesecake business on the side) who bought Grace’s Uncle Jerry’s car and doesn’t want to sell it back unless Will and Grace can come up with $3,000 (she paid $400).
