Why Tim Gunn has not had sex in 29 years
Tim Gunn, the longtime mentor on Project Runway, made a startling admission during his second week as one of the hosts of ABC’s The Revolution: he has not had sex in 29 years.
He had his heart broken by a guy at a time when the AIDS epidemic was just beginning to surface.
I’m a perfectly happy fulfilled individual and I have feelings,’ he said. ‘It’s not as though I’m some barren forest.’

Well, that’s different. I mean, I read in the wikipedia –with a sourced link still present- that he was “asexual”. Though I guessed that his assertion was more related to not having sex or sexual desires by now. I guess the epidemic affected a whole generation in a very negative way, especially those who were used to another kind of sex, a freer one. Those who grew up later purpotedly –wishful thinking- had to learn the basics of taking care while having gay sex. Well, not only gays I mean, but at least.

Tim Gunn is such a real and intelligent person. I love how he said he’s a perfectly happy fulfilled individual and that he doesn’t even remotely feel less because of it. It’s sad how this society has the attitude that someone who doesn’t engage in sexual relationships is somehow less than whole. It’s all about personal choices and what’s most important. Tim, thank you for coming out again and thank you for your honesty. I think you’re beautiful just the way you are!
