Why Erich Bergen is especially in awe of Chadwick Boseman’s work ethic as he battled cancer

Saw this on Erich Bergen’s Twitter page today. The out Madam Secretary and Jersey Boys shares some of this own experience working with cancer and puts some real perspective on what Chadwick Boseman was able to accomplish professionally during his private four-year battle:

In the late summer of 2013, I filmed the Jersey Boys movie shortly after I was diagnosed with cancer, went through surgery and a round of chemotherapy. While the filming was one of the greatest thrills of my life, on most days I also had severe nausea, dizziness, panic attacks…..as well as severe anxiety. That was one movie, and a pretty light lift as far as filming schedules go, given the long hours production usually commands. It was also just one diagnosis of a relatively treatable cancer, and just one round of chemo. @chadwickboseman shot more……than 5 films as he battled an aggressive cancer for 4 years. Many of them action films with intense schedules and demands. If I ever am lucky enough to set foot on a set again, I vow to never complain about a long night or tough day again. May we all bow at Mr. Boseman’s dedication to art and his drive to provide inspiring, dynamic and captivating entertainment. It is nothing but inspirational.
