Why Ellen DeGeneres won’t have Donald Trump on her talk show: ‘He’s against everything that I stand for’

Don’t expect to see Donald Trump on The Ellen DeGeneres Show anytime soon – or ever.

The popular daytime television personality welcomed Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama, onto her show many times throughout his two terms and at times he even danced.

But the deeply controversial Trump has gone too far right to share a stage with DeGeneres.

‘I’m not going to change his mind,’ DeGeneres said in an interview on NBC’s The Today Show..

‘He’s against everything that I stand for. We need to look at someone else who looks different from us and believes in something that we don’t believe in and still accept them and still let them have their rights.’

DeGeneres has spoken against action Trump’s administration has taken against protections for transgender students and on immigration laws, among other issues.
