While talking about Renee Zellweger’s new face, Rosie O’Donnell acknowledges some plastic surgery

Rosie O’Donnell told the audience of ABC’s The View of earlier today that she had plastic surgery to take care of a droopy eyelid.

She made the disclosure during a discussion about Oscar winning actress Renee Zellweger who appeared at a red carpet event this week looking very different than she has in the past.

The has led to widespread speculation about what Zellweger may or may not have had done to her face.

‘I think Renee Zellweger is a very talented actress and I think anyone can do anything they want to their body or their face and you shouldn’t be surprised if people notice in the same way people notice I lost 50 pounds and had gastric surgery to do it,’ O’Donnell said during the show’s Hot Topics segment.

‘People notice my eye looks different, I had my eyelid done because it was drooping,’ she explained.

O’Donnell doesn’t think someone like Zellweger can be too upset over all the attention about her appearance.

‘If somebody who is a public figure drastically changes their appearance so that they’re unrecognizable, are we as a society supposed to pretend we don’t see it?’ she asked.

‘I agree we shouldn’t be mean about it but to actually observe the fact that she looks drastically different than she used to, if it’s not done in a mean, judgmental tone, I think it’s OK. Otherwise it’s the elephant in the room.’
