What’s LGBT about today’s Golden Globes nods

The gay-themed film Moonlight earned several Golden Globe Award nominations this morning including one for Best Picture-Drama.

The film’s Mahershala Ali was nominated in the supporting actor category while Naomie Harris is up for supporting actress.

Moonlight writer-director Barry Jenkins is nominated for best director and best screenplay. Moonlight is also nominated for best original score.

Out fashion designer and director Tom Ford got two nods for his film Nocturnal Animals.

Ford is nominated for best director and best screenplay.

In the television categories, Transparent is up for best comedy series while Jeffrey Tambor is nominated for best actor in a comedy for his portrayal of transgender woman Maura Pfefferman.

Bisexual actresses Rachel Evan Wood and Sarah Paulson also got nods.

Wood is up for best actress in a TV drama for Westworld while Paulson is nominated for her Emmy winning performance as Marcia Clark in The People vs. OJ Simpson.
