Wednesday Morning Man: Nick McCarvel!
Was catching up on French Open news on YouTube (Live at Roland-Garros – Daily Show) the other day and one of the reporters was awfully charming and cute.
So , of course, I Googled him.
His name is Nick McCarvel and I’m happy to report that he is openly gay!
Nick has contributed to USA Today, NBC Sports, ESPN and others on both tennis and various Olympic sports.
He did an interview with my friend Cyd Zeigler for Outsports last December.
‘I think the funnest part of my job for me is the reaction I get from other gay men I meet in New York when I’m home or traveling for work. “You work in tennis? You’ve been to the Olympics?!” They’re genuinely excited and want to know some strange detail about Serena Williams, or if Novak Djokovic is nice.
‘I am passionate about what I’m doing, and I’ve also gotten to travel the world, work closely with these athletes and push myself to do more and work harder through all of it. That’s pretty satisfying, to be honest.’

Hey Greg-What a fabulous choice for the day! Nick first caught my eye a few years ago watching one of the ‘best of 5′ shows on Tennis Channel. As you did I googled him and have been swooning over him ever since. Also jealous as all hell since he has the career I would kill for lol.
