Wednesday Morning Man: Greg Rikaart!
It was great to meet The Young and the Restless star Greg Rikaart at the Daytime Emmys over the weekend.
He was looking pretty relaxed as he made his way down the red carpet at the Las Vegas Hilton and part of the reason could have been that he already has an Emmy at home!
Greg won the outstanding supporting actor Emmy in 2005 for his performance as Kevin Fisher, a role he has played on the show for seven years and been Emmy nominated in four of those years.
The role is never boring!
“My wife is sleeping with my brother,” he tells me. “That’s the kind of thing that happens. Nobody wants to see happy couples on TV.”
While As the World Turns will have its final airing on September 17 and Guiding Light was canceled last year, I asked Greg why Y&R has not only survived, but has seen its ratings grow.
“I think if you put out a good product, people are going to watch it,” he said.
Greg is 33, grew up in Staten Island and graduated with honors from Villanova University. His other television roles have been two seasons on Dawson’s Creek as David and guest spots on Grounded for Life, Gilmore Girls and Strong Medicine.

Just as cute as all out, and, a pretty good actor as well!

How I wish I had time for at least one soap. When I did, it was always “Y&R.” Obviously, it was Greg’s looks that first got my attention, but when given good material this guy is one of the best in the business.
