Wednesday Morning Man: Brian Sims!
Brian Sims is a 31-year-old LGBT activist and lawyer who is running to be the first openly gay member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
I read about him yesterday in Kennethinthe212 and quickly realized he is Morning Man material!
According to his campaign website, Brian served as the Staff Counsel for Policy and Planning at the Philadelphia Bar Association and just recently stepped down as both the President of the Board of Directors of Equality Pennsylvania and as Chairman of GALLOP.
He has an interesting backstory:
In 2000, the son of two retired Army Lt. Colonels came out to his football team after helping to lead them to the Division II National Championship game as their captain. He remains the only former NCAA football captain to have ever come out, and is one of the most notable collegiate athletes to do so in any sport.
He told Outsports two years ago that he enjoyed tremendous support from his teammates: ”It became a funny source of pride for a lot of my teammates and close friends.”
He has appeared on, KYW, NPR’s “Radio Times” and World Football Daily and has been profiled at OutSports, The Washington Times, ESPN, Gay.com, The Philadelphia Gay News, Compete Magazine, Philadelphia Weekly and The Daily Local News.
Brian holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctor degree in International & Comparative Law from Michigan State University College of Law.

Milsy, wake up, Brian Sims is a HE, not a she, quit making light of a person because he is born gay. Also HE was a defensive tackle and they do not throw the football in football games.
