WATCH: Valerie Harper talked to Television Academy Archives about her legendary career as Rhoda and Valerie
Valerie Harper, who died today at the age of 80, had a phenomenally successful career in television.
She won four Emmys for her portrayal of Rhoda Morgenstern who she played for four seasons on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and for five seasons on the spinoff Rhoda. She also starred for two seasons as Valerie Hogan on the series Valerie before a contract dispute led to her being fired. She later sued for wrongful termination and won.
She sat down with the Television Academy Archives to talk about her career on the three shows.

I enjoyed Valerie’s portrayal of Rhoda and continued to follow her career thereafter. A wonderfully talented and generous soul. May she rest in peace. Thank you, Greg, for including this on your website. Bruce
