WATCH: Patti LuPone opens up about the state of Broadway and why she needs a break from it

Who knows if Patti LuPone will ever star in another Broadway musical or play? I got to see her in Master Class in 1996 then again when she brought her one-woman show and later her show with Mandy Patinkin to LA. But didn’t see her in Company or Gypsy or Sweeney Todd or Anything Goes or War Paint or Evita. She’s had one of the greatest careers on Broadway and on London’s West End (Les Miserables, Cradle Will Rock, Sunset Boulevard & more) than just about anyone but seems focused on TV and film right now – and the roles keep coming.
