WATCH: Broadway legend Patti LuPone reflects on her decades-long love affair with the stage
Patti LuPone is one of the most decorated Broadway performers of our time. She’s been acting for more than 50 years, and in that time, she’s racked up three Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and two Grammys. Ahead of bringing her show Don’t Monkey with Broadway to Toronto, she joined interviewer Tom Power for a career-spanning interview that ranges from her early years to the state of Broadway today. I have never heard her explain, so effectively, exactly why it was so difficult it was for her to sing the score to Evita, the musical that made her a Broadway superstar.
