WATCH: Billy Gilman nails ‘The Show Must Go On’

Hitting all the right notes, Billy Gilman continued his musical comeback on NBC’s The Voice this week with a soaring rendition of the Queen classic The Show Must Go On.

The openly gay singer sang the rock ballad for a possible spot in the show’s top 11.

His performance brought all four judges to their feet.

‘What could possibly epitomize the show more than someone who sings the way you do with the conviction that you do?’ judge Adam Levine said after Gilman sang live for the second time this season.

It was another triumph for the one-time child star who achieved country music stardom early.

He sold more than 5 million records and seemed to be settling in for a nice, long run.

But Gilman’s record sales began to slip and as he approached his 20s, music labels wouldn’t even take meetings with him.

There were whispers about his sexuality and for a time, he faded from public view until coming out publicly as a gay man in 2014.

‘You are a million times better as an adult,’ judge Blake Shelton said after the performance.

Key advisor Garth Brooks also had high praise saying of Gilman during rehearsals this week: ‘What I heard today, the future now belongs to him.’
