WATCH: Anderson Cooper lost it on NY’s Eve when Cheri Oteri revived her Barbara Walters character

Watched a little bit of the CNN New Year’s eve coverage (still miss Kathy Griffin!) and the absolute highlight was when former SNL cast member Cheri Oteri took her Barbara Walters impersonation out of mothballs and went to town. I always loved her as Babs and clearly so does Anderson Cooper who is just dissolved in laughter throughout.

Miss Walters is now 90 and does not appear in public anymore. Hope she is doing well. She truly paved the way for women in broadcast journalism as the first female co-host of NBC’s The Today Show and the first female co-anchor of a network evening news telecast (ABC). She went on to co-anchor ABC’s 20-20 for 25 years and to create and co-host ABC’s The View from 1997-2014.
