Videos: Let’s warm up for Betty White’s “SNL” hosting gig with some of her memorable TV appearances

All the hoopla over 88-year-old Betty White hosting Saturday Night Live tonight is all kinds of fun.

We spend a lot of time these days hearing about who slept with Tiger or Jesse (who cares!) or who wore what dress better (yawn) etc.

So to have the media making a very big deal out of an enormous talent like Betty, after more than 60 years in the TV game, is so refreshing and inspiring.

Here are some Betty White TV moments I thought I’d share as we countdown to 11:30 tonight!

Betty’s guest spot on Ugly Betty was one of the funniest things she’s ever done and it was inspired to have her become the nemesis of Wilhelmina Slater.

On Craig Fergeson, Betty guested as a speechwriter for the John McCain presidential campaign. She refers to Sarah Palin as “one crazy bitch” and Barack Obama as “one hot piece of man.”

Betty makes an appearance on My Life on the D-List and goes to the Sizzler buffet with Kathy Griffin and her mom Maggie. It’s very cute.

And finally, here is a snippet from A&E Biography that shows many instances of Betty White’s peerless way of being sugary sweet then getting a cutting zinger in – a with a smile never leaving her face.

The woman is a national treasure.
