Video: Sam Smith backstage at The Grammys

I’m a day late on this but it’s certainly worth sharing.

Grammy speeches are so short because, well, it’s a concert now with a few awards squeezed in. And the get off the stage music starts playing just as the winners are forming their thoughts.

Anyway, Sam Smith was able to say very little as he collected his four awards but he did say more once he went backstage and faced the press.

Juggling his four trophies he said, ‘I feel like Kate Winslet at the Oscars right now … I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.’

Asked what could top the feeling he quickly replied: “A boyfriend would be nice. I don’t think it would top this, though.”

So what is he looking for in a man?

“Patience. Someone who could clean these every day for me.I don’t know what I’m looking for. I think the minute I start looking it’s not going to come my way. I’m just looking for some crazy love story.”
