Video: Judy Shepard talks to Rachel Maddow about Rep. Virginia Foxx’s vile comments

Rachel Maddow did a very informative piece last night about the hate crimes legislation named after Matthew Shepard and has a terrific interview with his mom, Judy Shepard. She is a strong woman who consented to having a video of the vile remarks made this week by Rep. Virginia Foxx (she called Matthew’s murder a “hoax”) so they could discuss it.

Foxx later apologized for saying “hoax” calling it a “poor choice of words.” This was an apology that meant nothing to Judy who said: “I did bot expect it to be called a hoak, anyone whio has done any research into Matt knows it’s a hate crime…[Foxx is] apologizing for semantics not for her semtiment or actually what she said, her insensitivity and her ignorance. It’s apologing for semantics.”
