Video: First trailer for NBC’s upcoming live version of “The Sound of Music” starring Carrie Underwood

There are plenty of people who think The Sound of Music starring Julie Andrews can’t be touched.

But it is very exciting that someone is going to try – and to do so LIVE.

The three-hour telecast of the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical classic will be broadcast at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) on Thursday, Dec. 5.

In the leads are Carrie Underwood as Maria and Stephen Moyer as Capt. Georg Von Trapp.
