Video: Ellen pays tribute to her mom on Betty DeGeneres’ 85th birthday
Betty DeGeneres, who told me recently that she attends just about every taping of her daughter’s daytime show, was the center of attention this week when Ellen had her on the mark Betty’s 85th birthday.
Ellen’s producers put together a highlight reel of Betty’s many appearances on the show over its 12 seasons.
It’s clear how much Ellen adores her mom who she describes as ‘someone who has been with me through it all.’
As a present, Ellen gave her mom a permanent seat in the audience complete with a plaque which reds: ‘Mama’s Seat.’
Then there was singing from the audience and a birthday cake with Ellen’s wife, Portia de Rossi also on hand along with guest Melissa McCarthy and her mother.
It sure looks like a lot of fun being Ellen’ mom!
