Update: Joan Rivers remains on life support

I don’t know about you but I’m in kind of stunned denial about this.

Just six days ago Joan Rivers was doing TV and live appearances, the busiest, sharpest and funniest 81 year old on planet Earth.

Now she is on life support in a New York City hospital and as the days go by, the situation seems to be increasingly scary.

Melissa Rivers released this statement today: On behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support we’ve received. At this time she does remain on life support.”

She added: “I know my mother would be overwhelmed by the continued outpouring of kindness and I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their prayers.”

Fashion Police tapings have been halted with E! saying in a statement: “We will not be producing a Fashion Police this week or next as we await Joan and Melissa’s return in front and behind the camera.”

E! will be airing two E! From Fashion Week specials that will deliver the latest news and information from that event.

Joan stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest last Thursday during a vocal cord procedure at an outpatient clinic in NYC.
