TV host Jane Velez-Mitchell named person of the year for 40th LA PRIDE celebration

Don’t know about you, but LA Pride is one of my favorite weekend’s all year and we are just a month away from thus year’s festivities which take place June 11-13.
Christopher Street West, which presents LA Pride, announced today that Jane Velez-Mitchell is the 2010 Person of the Year. She was chosen for her activism, her honesty in sharing her journey overcoming addiction, and for being an out lesbian working in national media.
Jane currently hosts HLN’s Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell. She is a veteran television news journalist and Emmy Award winner who spent more than a decade anchoring and reporting for KCAL-TV in Los Angeles. Her autobiography, I Want: My Journey from Addiction and Overconsumption to a Simpler, Honest Life, became a New York Times bestseller.
