Terry Wolfe says:
I was a student at Northeastern U in 1984, and still remember the privilege I had of being able to see Ms. Lavin play “The Mother” in Luigi Pirandello’s Six Characters in Search of an Author, at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge. Brustein directed. Forty years on, I still remember the production, and especially Ms. Lavin’s performance, and sitting there at the end, stunned, and with tears in my eyes. I can’t recall another performance, of anyone, anywhere, which affected me so.
