Transgender star Jinkx Monsoon announces that she’s taking the lead role in Broadway’s ‘Oh Mary!’

Actress, singer and comedian Jinkx Monsoon, who has taken the Broadway world by storm since being the sole two-time winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” joins TODAY’s Jenna Bush Hager and guest co-host Michelle Buteau to exclusively announce that she will be taking over the role of Mary Todd Lincoln in Cole Escola’s hit show “Oh, Mary!” Monsoon also opens up about the acceptance she’s received from both of the acting and trans communities with her trailblazing career. “I want the door to stay open behind me,” she says.
