TR Knight tells Ellen he’d like to be a daddy

Former Grey’s Anatomy star T.R. Knight, currently starring onstage in LA in the musical Parade at The Mark Taper Forum, said on Tuesday’s Ellen DeGeneres Show that he’d like to become a dad someday.

“I want a baby,” he told Ellen. “I don’t know if it’s going to end up working out, but that would be something I would like.”

No doubt that he’s got babies on his mind since BFF Katherine Heigl and her husband, Josh Kelly, adopted a baby girl from Korea last month.

“I’ve wanted [kids] for a while, so it reinforces it,” T.R. said. “She’s such a beautiful baby. I’m so happy for her and Josh.”

On the professional front, once Parade closes in mid-November, TR will prepare for the role of Max in the Broadway revival of the classic farce Lend Me a Tenor to be directed by Stanley Tucci. It is scheduled to open in February 2010.
