Cher’s solo variety show came about a year after her divorce from Sonny Bono.

It lasted less than two seasons because Cher (who had gotten pregnant by second husband Gregg Allman) found it to be too exhausting. So she reunited with her ex-husband and did The Sonny and Cher Show for a few more seasons but the show was not the classic that The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour had been from 1971-74.

Anyway, Cher the solo show was dazzling. I loved her entrances, loved her sketches and loved her guests.
