Totally Random Videos: Check out this batch of TV theme song medleys from past Emmys and TV Land Awards
Don’t know how the heck I got into a YouTube worm hole of TV theme song medleys but so glad I did. Who knew there have been so many of them in decades past and presented in such creative ways?
I had never seen the TV Land medley from 2003 and this sweet duet of the the theme from The Partridge Family between David Cassidy and TV mom (and real-life stepmom) Shirley Jones is my most favorite bit of all. But there are many others here in the various videos. Linda Lavin in sensational form belting out the Alice theme song at the Emmys in 1985, Shelley Long and Ted Danson sweetly reuniting as the theme was Cheers is performed, and many more.
Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Oh my god!!
What a rush of past memories. To be frank I have not heard so much bad singing in one place. Even the folks who could sing at the events were not suited for the material at hand. I was amazed that John Schnieder could sing. He was putting his heart into it. Not bad. Standing ovation. Marie Osmond was doing well. Well, the younger version. I watched the Partridge Family and knew that Shirley and David were the only ones really singing their songs. As they always say, song choice is everything.
Doing that today would be literally impossible. If the cheesy production numbers were done today the performer (s) would be laughed off the stage. But in the context of that era, great. Can’t forget the styling was top-notch.
