Totally Random Video: Bette Midler lounging as Sue Mengers on Broadway in “I’ll Eat You Last”
Bette Midler was the toast of Broadway and won the Tony Award for Hello, Dolly! in 2018 but it was five years earlier that she ended her 23-year absence from The Great White Way.
Midler starred for more than two months in 2013 in the solo play I’ll Eat You Last: A Chat With Sue Mengers and earned a Drama Desk Award nomination for her delicious performance as the woman who was the agent to some of Hollywood’s biggest stars in the 1970s and 80s.

I remember reading of a funny line in this play. Bette/Sue is trying to reach Barbra Streisand on the phone and she screams, “Pick up the phone, you cunt!!”
