Top queer DJ Matt Suave celebrates Pride Month with his debut single and video “My House”

Since I don’t go out dancing much these days, I have not had the opportunity to see queer DJ Matt Suave in action. But I do remember seeing him in a few of Andrew Neighbors’ YouTube videos when they did some traveling.
I thought Matt, like Andrew, was cute as heck so started following him on Instagram as you do.
So when an enthusiastic PR team contacted me recently about doing a post on Matt’s new single My House – just released today – I was game! You can see it below.

Emerging as one of the top queer DJs in North America, Matt ias a classically trained musician and opera singer turned global house DJ.
He has distilled every groove he has absorbed on the dance floor while commanding the biggest and best parties in the world into a single anthem. It’s three minutes of unabashed, queer joy captured during a house party full of the local drag queens and DJs that helped raise Suave as an artist and have been there for him since the beginning, including RuPaul’s Drag Race winner and All-Star Yvie Oddly.
“I spent a long time on this project, teaching myself over the years to produce from scratch in my bedroom, and what came out is exactly that – my house sound,” Matt says of the new single. “Every groove, every influence I’d absorbed on the dance floor, poured into a single track for the first time. The result is a vocal disco house cut with a classic piano breakdown in the second half that has since become one of my signature instruments in all my tracks.”
He adds: “The music video is also the culmination of all my coming-of-age musician years in Denver. We threw an actual house party at a friend’s place, surrounded by the people who’ve been there from the beginning: chosen family, PlayHaus drag performers, the Denver community that helped raise me as an artist. It features a surprise appearance from my close friend and Denver superstar Yvie Oddly – winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 11. It’s my whole world that made this record, in one room for its video.”
According to a press release: My House is a high-impact vocal disco bop that celebrates individuality and resilience. As the co-founder of PlayHaus, Denver’s premier queer dance collective, Suave taps into his chosen family and his own community to star in the kaleidoscopic music video.
Suave has brought his talents to some of the world’s biggest stages including EDC Las Vegas, WorldPride, NYC Pride, LA Pride, Sydney Mardi Gras.
Enjoy! And congratulations to Matt!
