Today’s Morning Man: Glen Powell!

When the first Top Gun movie came out more than 25 years ago, I was all about Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer when it came to dreamboats. This year’s sequel Top Gun: Maverick has a few new dreamboats including today’s Morning Man Glen Powell who plays Lieutenant Jake “Hangman” Seresin.

The handsome and very fit actor is celebrating his 34th birthday today.

I first noticed Powell in what was one of my favorite films of 2016: Everybody Wants Some!! which came out at the time he had a regular role in the TV series Scream Queens. That same year, he also played astronaut John Glenn in the outstanding film Hidden Figures.

He had certainly paid his dues by the time he started landing bigger roles in TV and film. He had Dione guest spots on such shows as NCIS, CSI: Miami. Without a Trace and Rizzoli & Isles and had smaller roles in the films Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, The Great Debaters, The Wendell Baker Story, Fast Food Nation, The Dark Knight Rises, The Hottest State, and The Expendables 3, among others.
