Today’s Morning Man: Gale Harold!

Today is Gale Harold’s 53rd birthday!

This fine actor’s portrayal of Brian Kinney on HBO’s Queer as Folk was one of the most sexy and delicious of any male gay character on television – ever.

Gale played another gay man in the film Kiss Me, Kill Me in 2015 and I was an extra in a scene in which he walked by me in a nightclub. So I like to say we did a scene together. Ha!

Around that time, Gale was asked about the challenges of same-sex love scenes for an actor: “I’m straight, but the character was too important to me to muddle his world with my private life,’ he said. ‘As a nobody, I got away with that deflection. I think it may have helped to introduce Brian as a believable gay man. Maybe not. However it played, it’s been out of my hands for a long time”.

Many roles have followed since the end of Showtime’s Queer as Folk 17 years ago. (Peacock premiered a hot new version last month with cast)) Gale recurred on Desperate Housewives and was a regular on such series as Hellcats, Vanished, and The Special Circle. He’s had memorable guests spots on Grey’s Anatomy, Deadwood, Criminal Minds, and The Unit, among others.

He also has extensive stage credits including Orpheus Descending and Suddenly Last Summer and roles in such films as Echo Park and Falling for Grace. His most recent film role is this year’s Good Girl Grace.

What’s especially nice is that Gale and his fellow Queer as Folk castmates appear to have remained close after all these years and it’s especially nice to see them all together as occasional reunions.

I love Gale Harold and Brian is one of the best gay characters in tv history. He brought the funny and comedic timing to the role.

  2. He had a beautiful butt

  3. It was Gale Harold portrayed of Brian Kinney that caught my eye. Gale took on that role and made it his own. He was good looking, sexy smart, funny, and a genius of manipulation and everyone fell in love with him, now that’s great acting.

He’s the MAIN reason I’m still

it first aired in December 1999!
