Today’s Holiday Tunes: Ronnie Spector and Darlene Love team up for “Sleigh Ride” and “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”

http://www.bigozine2.com/MP309/DLRSxmas/DLRSxmasFrs.jpgNewly-announced Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Darlene Love goes back a very long way with Ronnie Spector, lead singer of the 60s girl group The Ronettes.

Both women are immensely popular during the holiday season and have even teamed up for some live shows and television performances.

These performances of Sleigh Ride and Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree are just terrific.

It’s not clear if this is from Letterman or Leno but I’m thinking Letterman in the mid-90s?

Anyone?

    Greg: The clip is from The Tonight Show With Jay Leno because Jay’s former bandleader, Branford Marsalis, is prominent in the background.

    jeeze..this is SO clearly the tonight show that it makes your other reporting suspect. that said, it’s always fun to see these ladies.
