Throwback Thursday: 25 years ago, Neil Patrick Harris was in “RENT” and visiting “The Rosie O’Donnell Show”

They would go on to become two of the most famous gay entertainment stars in America: Neil Patrick Harris and Rosie O’Donnell. But in 1997, their lives as public people were quite different. Rosie was the queen of daytime television and not out publicly as a lesbian. NPH was nine years away from coming out publicly and starring in How I Met Your Mother. He was starring in the LA production of RENT which I saw him in and was promoting his upcoming move Starship Troopers.
