Thomas Roberts accepts ALS Ice Bucket Challenge – gets drenched live on “The Today Show”

The ice bucket challenge got started on social media as a way to raise awareness and money for ALS, a neurodegenerative condition also referred to as Lou Gherig’s disease.

The Today Show’s weekend anchors Erica Hill, Lester Holt and Jenna Wolfe took the challenge on Saturday. They were followed today by Wolfe’s partner, NBC News correspondent Stephanie Gosk as well as by Erica Hill’s cousin Dana Coffin, MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts and Weekend TODAY producer Dee Dee Thomas.

Congrats to all for taking part. The photos are all of Thomas because, well, I think he looks best in a wet shirt!

Each participant then issues the challenge to three people. Thomas has challenged California Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom, Rachael Ray and Manny Machado of the Baltimore Orioles.
