This & That: Whitney’s new album cover; “The View” ladies talk “Bruno” and Rafael Nadal plots his comeback
It’s been years in the making and I wondered if it would ever happen. But Whitney Houston will have a new album out in September. We’re already heard one track and this week, the cover has been made public and it is a beauty. She looks healthy and ready to reclaim her throne as reigning pop diva. This will be her sixth studio album and first since 2002’s Just Whitney.

And speaking of comebacks, tennis stud Rafael Nadal has announced that he plans to play in his first tournament since The French Open next month in Montreal. Rafa’s bad knees prevented him from trying to defend his Wimbledon title and resulted in him losing his number one ranking to Roger Federer who won both the French and Wimbledon within a one-month period.
The Montreal tournament is an important warm-up tournament for the US Open which begins at the end of August because it attracts all the top players. Nadal has won four French Opens as well as a Wimbledon and an Australian Open. He only needs a victory at Flushing Meadows (where the tournament is held) for a career grand slam.
But, I don’t think Nadal will win in New York. Nor will Federer (gasp!). I predict the US Open will be won by a guy named Andy – I just don’t know if his last name will be Murray or Roddick.
