(All comments are reviewed before being published, and I review submissions several times per day.)

2 Remarks

  1. What a great interview with Tim—-I am a stickler for good interviews—Kate is not a great interviewer or maybe it was just the way the pod cast was edited—The interview is best when Tim expounds on his experiences—The background of Tim not getting paid for the first two seasons is interesting—-He just didn’t think he was worthy enough to be paid—He was at a GLADD function and a agent came up to me and schooled him—-I am disappointed that Tim was not asked to come back to the show—I hope it is not because of his age–71—Older/mature folks can still contribute and have great insight—Heidi is 51 and some think she is long in the tooth for television—-It’s all relative—

  2. I’ve enjoyed your column for years, but I’ve noticed that when I post something negative, mixed, or not entirely cheery, my comment takes days to appear—if at all. By then, the conversation has moved on, and few, if any, readers will see it. Why is that?

I understand this is your blog, and you have the right to moderate as you see fit. You’ve mentioned reviewing submissions multiple times a day, but is that really the case?

Most blogs I follow allow real-time posting with clear guidelines in place. If a comment crosses the line, the blogger can remove it or block repeat offenders. That system fosters a true community—one that welcomes all viewpoints, even those that challenge the status quo. A blog that only allows saccharine, rosy comments doesn’t reflect real life.

If I had a blog, I’d want open dialogue. I’d allow all perspectives, even those I disagree with, because my readers might learn something or even challenge their own beliefs.

Would you consider allowing real-time posting with moderation tools in place? It would create a more dynamic and engaging discussion.
