The sensational Jo Anne Worley turns 85 today!
There are some stars who are simply a force of nature and that is the only way to describe the fabulous Jo Anne Worley who turns 85 years young today.
I remember her from Laugh-In when I was a kid and from all her game show appearances and loved her. So what a thrill to meet her many times decades later and to see her perform live in her one woman show at The Magic Castle in Hollywood. What. A. Talent.
She’s the president of Actors and Others for Animals, has been on Broadway in The Drowzy Chaperone and she was Madame Morrible in the national tour of Wicked. She also had the misfortune of being Carol Channing’s understudy in the original Broadway performance of Hello Dolly! Channing never missed a performance.
But she played Dolly in other productions and other great stage roles in theaters across the country including Mama Rose in Gypsy and the leads in Anything Goes, Annie Get Your Gun, Once Upon a Mattress and many more.
Enjoy some moments below with the great Miss Worley.
