The Rosie Show canceled by OWN
I was just getting used to having Rosie O’Donnell back on television and was really digging the more intimate set she introduced last month.
Well, word as just come that OWN has canceled The Rosie Show after less than six months.
C’mon!
I wish they would have just let Rosie do the show from New York where she could get better guests and build an audience. She is such a good interviewer and strong commentator and someone you like spending time with each day.
‘It was a great year for me,’ Rosie said in a statement. ‘I wish the show was able to attract more viewers — but it did not. So I am headed back to my home in New York – with gratitude. On we go!’
Here’s what Oprah Winfrey had to say: ‘As I have learned in the last 15 months, a new network launch is always a challenge and ratings grow over time as you continue to gather an audience. I’m grateful to Rosie and the dedicated Rosie Show team for giving it their all.’

I just got OWN this week and promptly added Rosie to my DVR recording schedule. Arghhhh. You are right, she should have done her show from NYC.

Let’s us not allow this to happen.

The ONLY reason I watched OWN was for Rosie. Very premature of them IMHO to cancel it half way through a season. I really enjoyed Rosie and I hope her show continues somewhere else.

I like ROSIE but I don’t get OWN. I heard the show was b-o-r-i-n-g with no studio audience!!! Can’t imagine RO without an audience!!!
Argelius says:
I really wonder if Rosie gave up and wasn’t interested in fighting for the show to make it better. Given that OWN is such a bust, O would have wanted to help its one big celebrity on the network a while longer, ratings (or lack thereof) notwithstanding.

I am bummed out now! 🙁
