The revamped “The View” is a big hit in its first week – up 13% over last year’s premiere week

Proof that Sherri Shepherd was on The View about seven seasons too long and Jenny McCarthy exactly one season too long (and don’t get me started on that Elisabeth Hasselback woman), ratings are way up so far this season.

The show’s only returning co-host, Whoopi Goldberg, is mixing nicely with Rosie O’Donnell – back after a seven year hiatus) and new co-hosts Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace.

I like the new show a lot and find myself looking forward to watching clips on Hulu if I miss it live.

That has not been the case for years.

Anyway, first week ratings are in: The show averaged 3.4 million total viewers — a 13 percent bump over last season’s premiere week, and its best premiere week since 2011.

The premiere episode last week drew 3.9 million total viewers — a 20 percent jump over last season’s premiere and the largest audience for a season premiere of the show in eight years.
