The return of “I Love Lucy” Friday! A hilarious scene from the episode “Ethel’s Birthday”

This showed up on my YouTube feed yesterday and led to my reviving the long-dormant I Love Lucy Friday feature from the early years of the blog. This one’s a hoot! Fred asked for Lucy’s help in choosing Ethel’s birthday gift. Lucy selects some chic hostess pants which Ethel thinks are ridiculous. Ethel wanted a toaster! This clip doesn’t include the fight they had after but it does have Ethel’s priceless reactions as Lucy tries to convince her that these pants are perfect to wear when she throws “smart dinner parties.”
